When it comes to our environmental impact, Clean Tech maintains an Environmental Management System. This system is externally assessed by a UKAS-accredited assessment company to ISO 14001, which requires us to go above and beyond basic compliance with legislation.
By the very nature of our operation, reprocessing a waste stream into a usable product, we have a positive sustainable environmental impact. You can see the amount of carbon dioxide we have saved from being produced in the counter on our home page, as customers use recycled PET from Clean Tech rather than virgin plastics.
Clean Tech is committed to the continuous improvement of our sustainability performance, working to ensure that we operate in the most environmentally sound manner. This includes initiatives such as:
- Ensuring that all of our waste streams are segregated, minimising the amount removed from site as “general waste”
- Investing in energy efficient solutions such as combined heat & power boilers
- Striving to improve the efficiency of our sorting regime to ensure that we maximise the amount of PET we reprocess into usable product
- Operating a water treatment plant on site, allowing us to reuse the water involved in the post-consumer waste washing process
About Clean Tech
At Clean Tech, we aim to create new resources from post-consumer waste. We work in partnership with our customers to ensure they can reduce their carbon footprint without compromising on quality and service.
Additionally, Clean Tech is accredited by the Environment Agency and is able to generate PRNs as well as Export PRNs (PERNs).
