Clean tech is currently looking to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor to its growing team based in Hemswell, Lincolnshire.

Job Purpose

To support the Health & Safety Manager with reviewing and developing the health and safety management system on site. The main focus of the role is to produce a series of risk assessments and associated Safe Operating Procedures for all operational and engineering activities on site.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Knowledge

  • Awareness of H&S legislation in UK
  • Working knowledge of risk assessment & IOSH
  • Awareness of manufacturing and/or heavy industry
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills

Aptitudes Required

  • Ability to prioritise workload, to meet targeted deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work alongside numerous stake holders
  • Excellent written work and computer skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • MS office suite & good PC skills
  • Good Organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good telephone manner for dealing with internal and external contacts

Experience

  • Manufacturing sector experience required
  • Experience of working within a Continuous Improvement environment

 

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Certificate or working towards

 

Key Result Areas:

  • Build a good working relationship with all operatives on site to ensure necessary input on Risk Assessments
  • Prioritise workload to give valuable time in observing high risk activities
  • Obtain Safe Operating Procedure and review whilst observing the task to ensure all job steps are correct and in the right order.  Any safety aspects to be included in the Safe Operating Procedure.  Ensure safety of self and others at all times
  • Photographs taken as a visual guide is easier to understand
  • Write Risk Assessment following observation and highlight any actions to be taken
  • Gain approval from task Manager, together action owners and target completion dates
  • Review on a regular basis for close out of actions. Re-assess once all actions are closed to ensure the risk is “as low as reasonably practicable” (ALARP)

Communications and Working Relationships:

  • Candidate to work for the Health & Safety Manager
  • Provide assistance and support to all members of the Clean-Tech team
  • Liaise with Clean-Tech operational and engineering team on their activities
  • Communication with external contacts as is necessary

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm
